Module 12: Think-JEPA & Long-Horizon Planning

Sophisticated Reasoning: Combining world modeling with a semantic thinking pathway for complex sequence optimization.

Long-Horizon Reasoning

Many real-world tasks require 20+ steps of perfect coordination. Standard JEPAs can struggle with these long-horizon sequences, as errors in latent prediction can compound over time.

**Think-JEPA** introduces a "Semantic Thinking Pathway"—a dedicated module that explores hypothetical future trajectories in an abstract, low-dimensional space before the agent commits to an action. This allows the model to find global optima in complex environments (like navigation or multi-step manipulation) rather than just reacting to immediate stimuli.

The Reactive JEPA moves toward the goal immediately, often getting stuck in the "trap" (local minimum). The Think-JEPA spends time in the semantic pathway (Purple progress bar) to plan a trajectory around the obstacle before moving.
